Chords and Chording, Part 1: G, C, and D
In this lesson, you’ll learn about the basic chord shapes on the banjo. Evie explains that the I, IV, and V chords are the most commonly used chords in any key, and in the key of G (the most common key on the banjo) those chords are G, C, and D. It’s good to know both the letter names and the numbers of the chords you’re playing. Evie also gives you good advice on how best to place your fingers on the fingerboard to play chords, and then gets you playing the bum-ditty pattern with G, C and D chords.
