Using a Capo, Part 1: Capo 2
In this lesson, Flynn shows you how to play in different keys when in DADGAD tuning by using a capo. He starts with the capo at the second fret, explaining that, in this position, D chords sound as E chords, G chords sound as A chords, A chords sound as B chords, and C chords sound as D chords. One of the most common uses of the second-fret capo position is to play tunes in E minor. You can use the practice tracks for “The Drunken Landlady” and “Morrison’s Jig” to practice playing in E minor with the capo at the second fret.
