Chord Scales: Week Three |
In this week’s workout, Ethan talks about playing over seventh chords that use a note outside the major scale (C7 and G7 in the key of G) as well as the ii chord (Am in G). To play over a C7 chord in the key of G, you’ll use the Lydian flat seven scale (also called Lydian dominant or Mixolydian #11) and to play over a G7 chord you’ll use the G Mixolydian scale. To play over A minor, you’ll use the A Dorian mode.
