Pentatonic Skipping Seconds: Week One |
In this series of workouts, Ethan uses the pentatonic scale to create some interesting patterns by skipping seconds in the pentatonic scale. He starts with a pattern in which you start from above and come down on each scale degree. So, in the key of G, you’ll start with A–G, followed by B–A, D–B, E–D etc. When you reverse that and come down, you’ll start by going up: A–B, G–A, etc. Then you’ll do the same exercise, but starting from below: G–A, A–B, B–D, etc.
