This phrase starts with the chord tone, goes to the chromatic note below, then the diatonic note above, and ends with the chord tone again. Chad shows you how to play this phrase surrounding all the notes of the D, G, C, and F arpeggios in first position. He ends by showing you how he improvises on the “Sweet Georgia Brown” circle-of-fifths progression using this phrase.
